Sign In Procedures

Students riding the bus will enter through our south gate. All other students should enter campus through our north gate. The campus perimeter gates will be locked when the bell rings at the start of each school day.  Students arriving after gates lock must enter through the front office to sign in.

Upon arrival, Students will be scanned in using their Student ID card, Bus Pass or StudentVUE ID.

  •    Students arriving less than 10 minutes late will be marked Tardy and will proceed to class.
  •    Students arriving more than 10 minutes late will be marked unexcused/absent and will proceed to class.

It is not necessary for parents to walk their student into the office to sign in.

If a parent knows a student will be arriving late, they may enter a ParentVUE absence BEFORE their student arrives at school in order to excuse the tardy.  If this is done, the absence will be coded according to the ParentVUE entry and the student’s arrival time will be adjusted based on the time the student signed in with the office.  Upon sign in, students will proceed to class with a pass.

Please be aware that current policy does not allow outside food or beverage to be on campus. Any student arriving to school with said items will be asked to dispose of them before entering the building. This does not include prepared lunches from home.

Sign Out Procedures

A parent/guardian must sign a student out in the Attendance Office and show picture ID in order to pick up their student.  Anyone other than the parent/guardian picking up student must be approved on the emergency information and 18 years of age or older.

Students will not be called out of class until parent/guardian has signed the student out with proper identification.

Please allow ample time for the sign out procedure.

Student Drivers

To release a student driver for a pre-scheduled appointment/activity, the Parent/guardian must email WFHS.Attendance@husd.org the morning of the planned release OR at least 2 hours in advance of the departure.

Any request received within this time frame will not be guaranteed.

The email should originate from the email address of a parent/guardian associated with the student in their official record and include:

  1. Student's first and last name
  2. Student's school ID number
  3. Requested release time
  4. Reason for the departure
  5. Your name and relationship to the student
  6. Your telephone number

Once confirmed, a pass will be delivered to the student for the requested departure time.

Student will be allowed to leave class at the time designated.  They will exit campus through the front office with their pass ready.

Excessive use of this process will be reviewed by Administration.

Student driver sign out procedures are not to be used for students that are feeling ill. If a student driver is ill, they MUST go to the nurse. The nurse will make arrangements with the parent/guardian if the student needs to be released.

Release of one student to leave campus with another student (other than sibling) is prohibited.

ParentVUE may not be used to remotely approve early departure from school.
