Reporting an Absence

Overview

Absences can be reported in ParentVUE or via email or telephone contact to the Attendance Office. 

Reporting Absences in ParentVUE – PREFERRED METHOD

Parents can report attendance through ParentVUE by logging onto their ParentVUE account on the mobile app or a computer (https://parentvue.husd.org/)

When logging in, you will see the Report Absence button next to the student’s name.

If you have multiple students, there will be a box next to each student.

When you click on the Report Absence button, it will open the Report Absences window.

To report the absence, complete the following in the Report Absences screen:

  1.  Start Date:  Select the date of the absence.
  2.  End Date:  If the absence spans multiple days, you have the option of entering an end date.
  3.  Reason:  Select the reason for the absence from the drop-down.
  4.  Note: You can enter any information here you would like the Attendance Specialist to know, but not required.
  5.  Attachments:  If you have a doctor’s note or a document you would like the Attendance Specialist to receive, you can attach it by clicking on the blue button (or the blue link in the app) that says Add doctor’s note or document.
  6.  Save:  After you have entered all the necessary information, click SAVE.

Once the Reported Absence is saved, no further action is needed.

Reporting an absence via eMail

Please email WFHS.Attendance@husd.org.  When emailing, please include the following:

  1.    Student's first and last name
  2.    Student's school ID number
  3.    Date/s of absence(s)
  4.    Reason for the absence
  5.    Your name and relationship to the student
  6.    Your telephone number

Absences reported via email will only be accepted if they originate from the email address of a parent/guardian associated with the Student in their official record.

Absences reported before 1:00pm will be updated by the end of the business day.  Absences received after 1:00pm will be updated the following business day.

Reporting an absence via Telephone

 To modify absences entered in ParentVUE or to report an absence, please contact the school Attendance Office at (480) 279-8000.  Select Option #2 and then select option #1. 

When calling, please speak slowly and clearly and include the following:

  1.    Student's first and last name
  2.    Student's school ID number
  3.    Date/s of absence(s)
  4.    Reason for the absence
  5.    Your name and relationship to the student
  6.    Your telephone number

Absences reported via telephone will only be accepted if they originate from the phone number of a parent/guardian associated with the Student in their official record.

Absences reported before 1:00pm will be updated by the end of the business day.  Absences received after 1:00pm will be updated the following business day.
